Motorola SURFBOARD Gateway?
I hav3 a HP G60 notebook laptop with one internet cable port and 3 usb ports. I've had it for 2 days and I can't seem to find out how to connect my Motorola SURFBOARD. I have a LINKSYS wireless port. I can't contact support because my phone currently is not working and the installation CD won't work until I get it right. I also need to know how to connect my xBox 360 console to the modem. Remember I have a internet port. Can somebody give me a step-by-step instruction to connecting my modem to my pc and gaming console?
First you need to figure out if the modem is working. I believe the surfboard has 3 green constant lights and an orange light that blinks when there's activity. If the three green lights are not consistently on then the modem isn't working or your connection to your ISP is bad. If the lights are on then the problem is with your computer. If its a wired connection then your network card (internet adapter card) is not functioning. Either the hardware is bad or you don't have the right drivers (software). If you are wireless then it could be any of a bunch of problems and you should ask another question regarding that issue.
